From the flowers of this plant, the bees obtain a honey that's very special. Chestnut honey is one of the darkest type of honey, its colour is a very intense brown, that sometimes tends to black. The smeel is often described as acre-like, strong and pungent. The taste reproduces its smell and is often defined as bitterish and vivid. The sweetness, is not one of its strong traits: For this reason it's not advised as sugar substitute, but sometimes it's used for this trait. Like every type of honey, different location and year of production can present changes in its look.
